Freedom House, is an International NGO that fights for freedom and democratic political environments, accountability of the governments to their citizens, the rule of law and guaranteeing the freedoms of expression, association, and belief, as well as respect for the rights of minorities. Freedom House is currently present at the International Organization for Migrants of the UN to discuss the plights of migrants in various states of the world and the risks associated with border crisis.
“We are the voice of freedom and democracy and must protect Human rights and we vigorously oppose oppression,” said the representative of Freedom House.
Freedom House is currently working with the United Kingdom and the United States as well as other states in order to reach a consensus on what should be done about the migrant crisis around the globe as well as deciding the urgent steps to be taken.
“We are firmly committed to the humanitarian crisis around the world and we would like to see a reworking of the international legal framework to allow migrants enter into states legally and enjoy their fundamental human rights,” the representative further added.
The deliberations remain ongoing and they should hopefully reach a pragmatic solution to the migrant and border crisis.
